When a group of students wants to ride to homecoming, winter formal or prom together, the question usually lands on one parent: is a party bus a good idea, and how do we do it safely? Here is what we tell every parent who calls.
Why Groups Choose a Party Bus
- Everyone arrives together, with nobody driving at night after a long day
- Parents know exactly who is driving and where the group is
- Splitting one bus across 20 to 40 students is often cheaper per person than you might expect
The Safety Rules We Enforce
- No alcohol, no vaping, no smoking. For school events this is absolute. The driver can end the trip if the rules are broken.
- A parent signs the agreement and is the contact for the night.
- You get the driver’s name and number before pickup.
- Drop-offs happen at the addresses you choose, not just “somewhere downtown”.
How Big a Bus?
- 12 to 16 students: a Sprinter limo
- 20 to 30 students: a 30-passenger party bus
- 35 to 50 students: a 45 or 50-passenger party bus
Tip: dresses and corsages take room. If you are close to the limit, size up.
A Typical Dance-Night Timeline
- Pickup: one home or a central meeting spot
- Photos: Garden of the Gods, downtown or a park near your school
- Dinner: the bus waits outside
- The dance: drop-off at the school entrance, pickup at a time you set
- Home: each student dropped at their address
Minimum Hours and Booking
School dances in high season have a 6-hour minimum, which comfortably covers photos, dinner, the dance and drop-offs. Popular dance Saturdays book up weeks ahead, so reserve as soon as the school announces the date.
